VioData – First national information system dedicated to combating violence

The Republic of Moldova will have a unified and modern mechanism that centralizes data on violence against women and domestic violence. The concept and regulations of VioData information system have been approved by the government.

VioData consolidates existing disaggregated data so that institutions no longer act separately but work together to support women and children. The system will be a single point where all information related to violence, including data from the aggressor registry, will be collected and analyzed. At the same time, the protection of personal data, especially for minors and other vulnerable categories is guaranteed according to national and European standards.

Police, courts, doctors, and social workers will have common access to the same digital platform, leading to faster responses, coordinated interventions and safer protection for victims.

VioData will generate official statistics that will underpin public policies and social services. This will reduce bureaucracy through automated reports, minimize reporting errors and show the public how violence cases are managed.
