
Team of Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University of Moldova becomes national champion in arm wrestling for sixth consecutive time
The team of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) has won the national championship title in arm wrestling for the sixth time in a row.
The USMF sportspeople finished first in the overall ranking of the 15 participating clubs, getting a total of 626 points and winning 24 gold, 21 silver and 28 bronze medals.
The university's team was composed of 31 sportspeople. The team’s captain and coach, Nicoleta Bodrug, a multiple-time champion and international referee, thanked her colleagues for their involvement and performance.
"This achievement reaffirms the team's level of preparation and ongoing efforts to promote an active and sound lifestyle," Bodrug said.
The championship brought together a total of 340 athletes. The second place was taken by the Sports School of Briceni, and the third place - by the State University of Physical Education and Sport.
Based on the national results, sportspeople will be selected to represent Moldova at the European and World Championships due this year.
