
Travel warning! Authorities urge Moldovans to avoid traveling to Iran
Chisinau, Oct. 3 /MOLDPRES/- The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Islamic Republic of Iran with residence in Baku urges Moldovan citizens to avoid any trip to Iran, in connection with the increased security risks in the region.
The Moldovans who are on the territory of Iran can leave the country by air, or by crossing the land border with the Republic of Turkey or the Republic of Armenia, the land border between Iran and Azerbaijan being still closed.
Also, Moldovan citizens who are on the territory of Iran and face a difficult situation are encouraged to contact the emergency line of the Consular Section of the Embassy, at phone number + 994 50 228 51 35.
On 1 October, Iran fired hundreds of missiles at Israel, and Israeli authorities announced that they might respond to the attack. Earlier, the US warned that a missile attack by Iran could be imminent.
A week ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the Moldovan citizens, who are in the Republic of Lebanon and the State of Israel, to exercise vigilance in the context of the destabilization of the security situation in the Middle East region and to avoid traveling to the areas.
