Moldova won 13 medals at World Weightlifting Championships
Athletes from the Republic of Moldova won 13 medals at the World Weightlifting Championships U-17 and U-20, held in Lima, Peru.
The national weightlifting team won four gold medals, three silver, and six bronze.
The latest distinction for our country was achieved by Alexandrina Ciubotaru, in the up to 76 kg weight category in the U-20 age group.
Weightlifter Danu Secrieru (55 kg) won three gold medals at the Under 17 World Championship.
Additionally, weightlifter Dan Betca (67 kg) won gold in the snatch event with a result of 122 kg, bronze in the clean and jerk with 146 kg, and silver in the total with 268 kg.
Moreover, Ion Badanev (61 kg) won bronze in the clean and jerk with 150 kg, while Nicoleta Cojocaru (55 kg) won silver in the snatch style with 82 kg and bronze in the total with 182 kg.
Weightlifter Alexandr Baldji also won a bronze medal in the clean and jerk style.
