UPDATE // Heavy cross-border traffic at Costești–Stânca Border Crossing has been eased. Traffic is moving smoothly, with minimal border-crossing times.
Traffic is currently heavy at Costești Border Crossing, in the direction of exit from the Republic of Moldova, where a crowd of travelers and vehicles has formed.
The Border Police announce that control authorities are taking measures to ease cross-border traffic, while activity at the border crossing is operating at full capacity.
To avoid waiting times, travelers are encouraged, where possible, to cross the border through other checkpoints, including: the Lipcani–Rădăuți Prut Border Crossing, the Leova–Bumbăta Border Crossing, or the Cahul–Oancea Border Crossing.
The Border Police advises participants in cross-border traffic to take the border situation into account and show understanding.
The authorities state that they will provide further information if there are any changes in the situation.
