Head of State conveys message of condolences following death of King Harald V of Norway
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu sent a message of condolences today to the royal family and the Norwegian people following the death of King Harald V, expressing gratitude for Norway’s support to Moldova during difficult times.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of His Majesty King Harald V,” Maia Sandu wrote on the X platform.
The head of state noted that she will always remember the warmth with which King Harald and Queen Sonja received her in Oslo, as well as the support that Norway has offered to the Republic of Moldova in “its most difficult years.”
“I extend my condolences to the royal family and to the Norwegian people,” Maia Sandu also wrote.
Norway’s King Harald V died today at the age of 89, after a long period of health problems, the Norwegian Royal House announced.
