Moldova's Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy to hold welcome ceremony for first-year students

The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) will hold a welcome ceremony for students admitted to the first year. The event will take place on September 1, at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace from Chisinau, starting at 11:00, and will bring together representatives of the USMF administration, deans, vice-deans, professors, students and parents.

According to the educational institution, the newly enrolled first-year students will solemnly recite the Nicolae Testemitanu USMF Student Oath, through which they will commit to respecting university values and traditions, striving for strong academic performance, respecting their professors and colleagues and becoming valuable professionals.

In addition, sixth-year students will present them with the white coat together with other symbols of medicine, such as the stethoscope and scalpel, as well as the flame of knowledge, which they are to preserve faithfully and pass on to future generations of medical students.

In total, this year 1,383 candidates passed the admission competition: 800 in the Medicine programme (430 state-funded, 370 tuition-based), 149 in Dentistry (10 state-funded, 139 tuition-based), 146 in Pharmacy (10 state-funded, 136 tuition-based), 25 in Public Health (5 state-funded, 20 tuition-based), 30 in Optometry (5 state-funded, 25 tuition-based), 51 in General Nursing (10 state-funded, 41 tuition-based), 85 in Physiokinetotherapy and Rehabilitation (10 state-funded, 75 tuition-based), 30 in Radiology and Imaging Technologies (10 state-funded, 20 tuition-based), 26 in Dental Assistance (5 state-funded, 21 tuition-based), and 42 in Medical Cosmetics and Cosmetic Product Technology (5 state-funded, 37 tuition-based).

At master’s level, 79 candidates passed the admission competition: 25 in Health Management (tuition-based), 12 in Human Nutrition (3 state-funded, 9 tuition-based), 8 in Public Mental Health (3 state-funded, 5 tuition-based), 7 in Molecular Technologies in Health (2 state-funded, 5 tuition-based), 7 in Clinical Optometry (2 state-funded, 5 tuition-based), 13 in Advanced Nursing (2 state-funded, 11 tuition-based), and 7 in Health Promotion and Protection (3 state-funded, 4 tuition-based).
