VIDEO // Prime Minister presents weekly summary and answers citizens' questions

Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu presented a video message reviewing the week that concludes, announcing the approval in first reading of the state budget for 2026 and answering questions from citizens regarding pensions, youth policies, and government priorities.

In his message, the official emphasized that the adoption of the draft budget in the first reading is the result of the government's joint effort, appreciating the contribution of the Ministry of Finance and Minister Andrian Gavriliță. According to the Prime Minister, the budget document for 2026 is aimed at maintaining social stability and continuing investments in priority areas.

Referring to the situation of pensioners, Alexandru Munteanu stated that in the last four years, the minimum pension has been increased three times, and average pensions have doubled. He also announced that pensions are to be indexed again in the spring of next year, noting that the government will continue to support the elderly.

The Prime Minister also spoke about youth policies, emphasizing the need to create conditions for them to build their future in the Republic of Moldova. Among the mentioned programs are granting a monthly addition of 3,000 lei for a year for employment in key sectors, offering a cultural voucher of 1,000 lei for access to cultural activities, as well as internship programs and facilities to obtain housing.

During the question and answer session, Alexandru Munteanu also offered personal details, mentioning that he has two sons currently abroad, but who are involved in social and charity projects for the Republic of Moldova and intend to return to the country.

The Prime Minister said that the state budget for 2026 will continue to be subject to parliamentary debates, to be adopted in the final reading, and the government aims to continue the dialogue with citizens regarding the main public policy decisions.
