Sports school opened in central Moldova village
A sports school was opened in the village of Costesti, central Ialoveni district. About 280 children are enrolled in the institution, where they can practice seven disciplines: judo, taekwondo, football, modern dances, chess and handball.
The new institution provides modern conditions for sports activities.
The complex has a capacity of 1,500 seats for supporters, running tracks, training space, sports ground, sanitary and hygienic conditions for beneficiaries according to standards, parking for spectators and a connected water supply and sewerage network.
Attending the opening event was the state secretary in the sports field, Sergiu Gurin. He said that the inauguration of the school was a clear example of the results that can be achieved when the local community, public authorities and the Ministry of Education and Research collaborate to create real opportunities for young people.
This year, 7.2 million lei was allocated from the state budget to support this institution. An additional 32.4 million lei has been earlier invested, during several years, by the National Regional and Local Development Fund for the construction of the institution's multifunctional stadium.
