The National Tourism Office on September 23 organized an informative tour dedicated to ambassadors accredited in Moldova and government members, with the goal of promoting the country on the international tourism stage. The event was part of the Moldova Tourism Forum 2025 and the celebrations marking the World Tourism Day.
Representatives of embassies from Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Bulgaria, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Georgia, Spain, Hungary, Romania, the United States, China, and Japan participated in the tour, alongside Moldovan cabinet members.
"By involving the diplomatic corps and government officials, the tour aims to enhance Moldova’s the visibility on the global tourism map and to encourage diplomatic missions to become ambassadors of Moldovan tourism abroad. The event also represents a platform for dialogue and cooperation designed to leverage the country's tourism potential and stimulate the development of bilateral partnerships in this field," said the National Tourism Office.
The participants in the tour visited the country's main tourist attractions, including the Căpriana Monastery, the town of Călărași (city tour and visit to the Museum of History and Ethnography), the "Poarta Neamului" (Nation’s Gate) Tourist Experience Center, and the Mircesti Winery.
The informative tour was organized by the National Tourism Office, with support from the Ministry of Culture and in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to promote Moldova as an attractive tourist destination for members of the diplomatic corps and international markets.
The Moldova Tourism Forum 2025 is the most important annual event dedicated to promoting tourism in Moldova, bringing together public authorities, industry operators, investors, representatives of the academic environment and the diplomatic corps. The forum aims to develop the tourism sector, promote local destinations and strengthen international partnerships.
During the forum, events marking World Tourism Day, marked annually on September 27, include informative tours for ambassadors and officials, presentation sessions, roundtables, tourism offer exhibitions and activities promoting Moldova's cultural and natural heritage. The events provide the opportunity to leverage the country's tourism potential, attract visitors and investors, and encourage cooperation between local actors and international partners.
Through these initiatives, Moldova strengthens its image on the global tourism map and promotes the development of sustainable, inclusive and innovative tourism.
