Chisinau Airport operations temporarily suspended following security alert
Eugen Doga International Airport in Chisinau announced that it activated emergency protocols this afternoon after receiving a security alert. The airport administration made the immediate decision to evacuate all passengers and staff from the terminal building to allow the relevant institutions to carry out specific checks under safe conditions.
All rapid response teams, including specialized police units and bomb disposal services are on site to manage the situation and monitor the perimeter.
As a result of this incident, airport operations have been partially paralyzed. The check-in procedure for scheduled flights has been temporarily suspended, which may cause delays or adjustments to the departure and arrival schedule of aircraft.
Airport representatives urge passengers to remain calm and to refrain from going to the terminal until further notice. People with flights scheduled in the coming hours are advised to check the real-time status of their flights by accessing the official online board on the institution’s website.
The administration of Eugen Doga International Airport said that it is in constant contact with the competent authorities to ensure the full security of the infrastructure and citizens. The main objective remains the resumption of flight operations as soon as possible, once the checks confirm the absence of any danger.
Passengers are asked to follow only official information channels to receive updates on the evolution of the situation and the timing of the terminal’s reopening to the public.
