Deputy Head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) Ina Frunza-Bargan and anticorruption prosecutor Vasile Discultu today were heard by the Commission for the Evaluation of Prosecutors.
In the stage preceding the hearings, the Evaluation Panels B and A, respectively, collected relevant information about the evaluated subjects and their close associates. in order to verify their compliance with integrity criteria. As for the identified ambiguities, the panels addressed four and, respectively, two rounds of written questions, to which the subjects replied within the deadline.
The PA’s deputy head, Ina Frunza-Bargan, said that “the external evaluation is an important, but not a simple process.” She appreciated the objectivity of the Commission and the effort made during the evaluation process.
“Personally, I understand that society’s expectations are high, but I am confident that the change in the justice system will take place and will be irreversible,” said prosecutor Vasile Discultu.
The evaluation has been completed for 26 subjects from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, and one of them was also evaluated in a re-evaluation procedure.
The evaluation reports regarding the two prosecutors who were heard will be issued within 30 working days.
