UK Government to back business projects in Central, Southern, Gagauzia
Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/- Businessmen from the development regions of Centre, South and Gagauzia will benefit from financial assistance, thanks to a project recently launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development amounting to about 300,000 pounds, funded by the UK Government.
“In all three regions several project concepts for business infrastructure development have been identified. There is an increased interest in achieving them, as they are interesting and will provide continuity to regional development”, minister in charge Liviu Volconovici said.
“Our goal is to help increase the attractiveness of regions for investors. There is no magic formula or template that can be applied to all regions, but we will identify a model of infrastructure planning and development with a maximum impact on the regional economy, as well as employment opportunities”, responsible for the good governance fund at the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Moldova Alexandru Pelivan said.
The project “Strengthening implementation capacities of the sectoral regional program for the development of business support infrastructure” will have a seven-month implementation period.
So far, regional working groups have been set up to contribute to the development of six viable support projects in business infrastructure for each of the three regions benefitting from assistance.
