Book on historiography of Transnistrian seperatism launched at Moldova's National Library
Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library of Moldova (BNRM) today organized the launch of a book titled,”Istoriografia separatismului transnistrean (1989–2005)” (The Historiography of the Transnistrian Separatism (1989-2005)), the second revised and enlarged edition. The latter was worked out by PhD in history, senior scientific researcher Lidia Prisac – author of over 100 articles and scientific studies, including two monographs in the contemporary history sector.
The work puts at the disposal of the interested readers a subject dealing with the phenomenon of separatism in Moldova on the period immediately following the disintegration of the Soviet Union. The author makes a thorough analysis of the works on the Transnistrian conflict, published on the period (1989-2005).
Attending the event, university professor, PhD in history Anatol Petrencu said that the work was divided into three chapters, each one oriented to approaching the Transnistrian separatism in a particular framework.
According to Petrencu, the first chapter titled, The Transnistrian separatism covered in works of authors from Moldova, set forth the historiographical covering of the Transnistrian dichotomy in Moldova. Anatol Petrencu noted that the essential desideratum was the fact that the Transnistrian separatism marked the geopolitical product of Russia’s interests in the region.
The second chapter called, The Transnistrian problem and the separatism in the western literature and the Romanian one, sets the dynamic of the tacking of the phenomenon of the Transnistrian separatism in the Western academic environment and the one from Romania. Taking into account that the visions are not identic, some aspects of the problem were approached separately.
The Transnistrian separatism in the pro-separatist publications is the title of the third chapter. It reveals the tackling of the problem in works of pro-separatist authors - Russian and those edited in Tiraspol.
The work includes pictures which once again show the main stages of the Transnistrian conflict.
