Moldovan actor passes away

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - A theatre and film actor, employee of the Satiricus I. L. Caragiale National Theatre, People’s Artist Igor Mitreanu passed away at the age of 56 years today morning.

Actor Igor Mitreanu played about 40 parts in theatre plays, as well as in more films. His particularly expressive theatrical structure advantaged him in the creation of parts of strong, sincere and resolute actors in actions and, at the same time, sensible, romantic and idealists.   

Igor Mitreanu created a true gallery of personages full of magic and novelty.  

Igor Mitreanu was born in the Racaria village, north-western Rascani district. He finished the Culture School from Soroca, specialty – stage manager of dramatic collectives of amateurs and the Arts Institute, specialty actor for puppet theatre, experimental course, first series of students, with professors Titus Jucov and Victor Stefaniuc. Mitreanu worked at the Satiricus I. L. Caragiale National Theatre since its foundation. In 2010, he was awarded the Merited Artist honorific title and in 2019 – the one of People’s Artist.
