Alina Cebotariov takes over leadership of Competition Council

Alina Cebotariov was appointed today as President of the Plenum of the Competition Council for a five-year term. The draft decision in this regard was approved by 55 MPs.

She will begin mandate on April 27, 2026. Alina Cebotariov has studies in economics, financial management, and business administration. From 2023 to the present, she has held the position of Deputy Director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development. Previously, she worked within the National Commission of the Financial Market and at the Ministry of Finance.

The Plenum of the Competition Council is a collegial decision-making body composed of five members, including a president and two vice presidents. They are appointed by Parliament, at the proposal of the Speaker of Parliament, with the opinion of the competent parliamentary committee. Each member may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
