Moldovan writer of Gagauz language would have turned 100 years

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/ - A writer of Gagauz language, university professor Dionisie Tanasoglu would have turned 100 years today.   

Dionisie Tanasoglu was born in Chiriet-Lunga, Tighina county, in 1922. He studied at the Normal School from Cetatea Alba (1934-1938), afterwards - at the Normal School from Barlad (1938-1943). Tanasoglu also studied at the History and Philology Faculty of the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical Institute from Chisinau, (presently University, 1947-1053), Theatre Institute from St. Petersburg (1947-1949). He made studies for the doctor’s degree in Turkology in Baku (1965) and maintained the thesis of doctor in philology in 1965.      

Dionisie Tanasoglu passed away in Chisinau on 23 August 2006.
