UPDATE 10:45 a.m. Heavy cross-border traffic at Sculeni border crossing point has been eased. Traffic is flowing smoothly, with minimal border crossing times.
The Customs Service reports increased traffic of travelers and vehicles at the Sculeni crossing point. The outbound direction from the Republic of Moldova is congested.
Control authorities are taking measures to streamline cross-border traffic, and operations are running at full capacity.
At Sculeni–Sculeni crossing point, the border authorities have implemented the Entry/Exit System (EES), which involves additional control procedures and may affect the duration of border crossing.
In this context, the Customs Service urges participants in cross-border traffic to plan ahead and opt for the following crossing points: Costești, Leova or Cahul.
