National festival-contest of choral music reaches seventh edition in Moldova
Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - Over 20 choral formations from all over Moldova will participate in the seventh edition of the national festival and contest of choral music, organized in the memory of a departed composer and conductor, Victor Creanga, due to be held at the National History Museum on 29 May. The event is organized by the Musical and Choral Association of Moldova.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Musical and Choral Association of Moldova, Master in Art Elena Marian said that those over 20 artistic collectives were from Balti, Chisinau, Criuleni, Edinet, Leova, Orhei, Soroca, Straseni and other settlements of Moldova.
According to Marian, each choir will sing 5 works: a work compulsorily written by composer Victor Creanga, at free choice; a work of sacred music by national classical composers (various epochs); national music; Ukrainian music, dedicated to refugees because of the war in Ukraine; work at free choice, which would represent the choir’s character and personality.
The first issue of the national festival and contest of choral music titled, The Spring Round Dance, was organized in 2009.
