Schedule of Martisor Festival 2026 // Cultural events begin in Chisinau, across Moldova
Spring begins in Moldova with the 60th edition of the International Music Festival Martisor, organized under the slogan, The joy of being together. The events will take place on March 1–12, 2026 and will bring together cultural activities in the capital and throughout the country.
The official opening is scheduled for March 1 at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace of Chisinau, where, starting at 18:00, the audience will be able to watch the musical “Maria Mirabela”.
As part of the 2026 programme, Martisor throughout the country, renowned artists will give concerts in the districts. In Cimislia, at the Community Centre, Vali Boghean will perform, while in Edinet, at 16:00, at the Community Centre, Gabriel Nebunu will give a recital. The organizers invite the public to take part in the events dedicated to the beginning of spring, which bring to the stage artists from the country and from abroad.
The International Music Festival Martisor was launched in 1966, becoming one of the longest-running and most important cultural events in Moldova. Over the six decades, the festival has brought together thousands of artists and has strengthened the tradition of celebrating spring through music, contributing to the promotion of national cultural values.
