Key objectives in European integration process set by end of August
The authorities must fulfill, by the end of August, several objectives set in the European integration process. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has called on civil servants for commitment and responsibility so that the results are delivered on time.
The official acknowledged that this is a difficult period for civil servants, since August coincides with the holiday season, but he underlined the importance of meeting deadlines and delivering results.
“Thank you to my colleagues for working against the clock. We have a lot of things to deliver by the end of August for the European integration process, so that we can submit all the reports on time. I understand it’s the holiday season, everyone is thinking about other things, but there is a lot to be done and I want to send a sincere thank you to all the civil servants who are now canceling their vacations, postponing their leave, and still making sure that we deliver everything that needs to be delivered by August 31. It is very, very important,” Vasile Tofan said at the beginning of today’s Government meeting.
The Republic of Moldova opened the first negotiation cluster for accession to the European Union – Fundamental Values – on 15 June 2026, during the EU–Republic of Moldova Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg. On 14 July 2026, Cluster 6 – External Relations – was also opened, during the third EU–Republic of Moldova Intergovernmental Conference held in Brussels.
