VIDEO // THE BORDER, new Moldovan comedy, screened in national premiere

Local cinema returns to the public’s attention with a new premiere. The film, THE BORDER, a comedy about relationships between neighbors, egos, and borders that separate, as well as bring people together, will be presented in a national premiere at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace on February 12.

Created by the makers of the film CARBON, THE BORDER tells a story that will feel familiar to a wide audience, in which an apparently trivial boundary between two households turns into a conflict full of humor, absurd situations and half-spoken truths. It is a comedy about ordinary people, told in their own language, in which viewers can easily recognize themselves.

The cast includes Andrei Locoman, Ion Grosu, Igor Caras, Catalin Lungu, Maria Onica, Pavel Sirbu, Sergiu Voloc, Anatol Melnic, Paulina Zavtoni, Lilia Cazacu, Vlad Druck, Natalia Bernaz and Viorel Cornescu.

The gala premiere is conceived as a special event that will include meetings with the actors and the creative team, photo sessions, direct interaction with the protagonists, a red carpet and a festive atmosphere. The organizers promise an evening in which laughter, emotion and applause will bring the audience and the film’s team together in a shared experience.

THE BORDER is a Moldova–USA–Romania co-production, made by 609 Film and Kantora Film Production, in co-production with more production companies from the country and abroad, with the participation of Moldova-Film. The project benefited from financial support of the National Center of Cinematography of Moldova and more private partners.
