Well-known Moldovan actress marks 85th birthday anniversary
Chisinau, 10 October /MOLDPRES/ - A well-known theatre and movie actress, People’s Artist, laureate of State Prize Valentina Izbesciuc marks her 85th birthday anniversary today.
People’s Artist Paulina Zavtoni has told MOLDPRES that, during more years, Valentina Izbesciuc was the basic actress of the Luceafarul Theatre. ‘’Along with her departed husband, Vasile Constantin, she played more memorable parts. The actress made numerous tours in Moldova and abroad. She brought a considerable contribution to the enrichment of our theatre’s repertoire,’’ Paulina Zavtoni said.
Valentina Izbesciuc was born in the Orhei town on 10 October 1936. In 1960, she graduated from the Moscow-based B.V. Shchukin Higher Theatrical School. Izbesciuc debuted on the stage of the Luceafarul Theatre, where she worked during all her live (since 1960). Simultaneously with the work on stage, the actress made also radio theatre.
Izbesciuc played her first part in a lyrical comedy in 1960. During her activity, the actress played over 30 parts.
She had parts in plays by William Shakespeare, Schiller, Chekhov, Garcia Lorca, Ion Druta, etc.
In 1966, Valentina Izbesciuc was awarded the honorific title of Merited Artist and in 1975 – People’s Artist. Also in 1975, the actress became laureate of the State Prize of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic.
