Around 3,400 tons of gasoline and diesel imported into Moldova on Wednesday

Around 3,100 tons of diesel and almost 300 tons of gasoline were imported into the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday, March 18. The data were presented today by the Ministry of Energy.

Petroleum product stocks amount to 16 days of consumption for gasoline, 13 days for LPG and 8 days for diesel.

The Government has approved new requirements for the retail sale of petroleum products, introducing a limit of 20 liters of fuel sold in mobile containers such as canisters. The Ministry of Energy noted that this measure aims to ensure continuity of supply with petroleum products and to maintain fuel stocks, in the context of the situation in the Middle East.

The authorities have encouraged car owners to use petroleum products rationally and to avoid purchases that are not strictly necessary.

The Government declared an alert state in the energy sector on March 4 for a period of 60 days, in connection with the external situation. According to the authorities, the measure is preventive in nature and aims to protect domestic consumption and maintain the stability of the energy system.
