Deputy PM says Moldova actively contributes to Ukraine's recovery through concrete projects, modern infrastructure

Moldova reaffirms its support for the recovery of Ukraine and for strengthening security and sustainable development of the region. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea has made statements to this effect at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025, held in Rome.

In his address, the deputy PM presented the concrete projects through which Moldova contributes to Ukraine's reconstruction and supports its connection with the European space.

"The recovery of Ukraine is, at the same time, the recovery of our region — a region of peace, prosperity and dignity. Moldova stays a consistent, predictable, and active partner in the joint European effort," said Vladimir Bolea.

The official highlighted more ongoing projects aimed at strengthening Moldova's transport and logistics infrastructure, which directly impact Ukraine's access to European markets.

"They include the modernization of TEN-T road and rail corridors; the construction of new bridges across the Prut and Dniester rivers, including the strategic Cosauti–Yampil bridge; the rehabilitation of railway lines for goods transit; and the development of multimodal logistics hubs in key points, like Giurgiulesti, Chisinau and Beresti. All these projects are supported by European partners and are integrated into the regional reconstruction plan, with a focus on energy efficiency, digitalization and green development," said the infrastructure minister.

The Moldovan official emphasized that Moldova's involvement was not just symbolic, but also based on real projects already being implemented. They transform Moldova into a safe and efficient corridor for southern Ukraine, as well as a reliable regional actor.

In his message, Vladimir Bolea reiterated Moldova's firm commitment to actively participate in Ukraine's recovery and the strengthening of regional stability: "We turn resilience into progress and suffering into solidarity. Moldova is part of the solution."

The conference in Rome is one of the most important international events dedicated to Ukraine's recovery and the economic relaunch of the Eastern European region. At the same time, Moldova's active participation confirms the increasingly important role the country is playing in the security and development architecture of the continent.
