Energocom company of Moldova launches tenders for purchase of natural gas for next gas year
The Energocom company has launched rounds of tenders for the purchase of natural gas meant for the next gas year (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027).
Starting from July 16, Energocom has held five rounds of tenders for standardized quarterly and annual energy products, aimed at supplementing the gas portfolio for the cold season. The tenders were organized in accordance with the natural gas procurement procedure approved by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The following were offered for purchase: two lots for the fourth quarter of 2026 (October – December 2026), with a volume of up to 276,000 MWh per quarter; two annual lots for the 2026–2027 gas year, with a volume of up to 365,000 MWh per year; one lot for the first quarter of 2027 (January – March 2027), with a volume of up to 270,000 MWh per quarter.
Following the completed rounds, the Energocom JSC managed to contract part of the required volumes. The procurement process is ongoing and the company will organize new rounds of tenders, in line with the approved strategy and depending on market conditions.
The acquisitions are carried out in stages, in order to diversify risks and get the most advantageous possible average price, Energocom informed. The process of contracting volumes for the 2026–2027 gas year is expected to continue until late next October.
