Works on Slobozia Mare bypass ring road reached over 97%
The construction works on Slobozia Mare bypass ring road have reached an execution stage of 97.2%, and the road is expected to be put into operation and opened to traffic by the end of July. The status of the works was inspected today by acting Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea during a working visit to the south of the country.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the on-site teams are currently focused on completing the final works required for the acceptance of the project and the commissioning of the road.
At this stage, the slopes, water drainage ditches, and berms for kilometer markers are being arranged. At the same time, work continues on the road structure by laying the second layer of crushed stone foundation. In parallel, metal safety barriers, road signs, and markings are being installed and applied to ensure traffic can take place under safe conditions.
After the project is completed, the Slobozia Mare Bypass Ring Road will take over transit traffic from national road M3, reducing congestion in the localities of Slobozia Mare and Giurgiulești. In addition, the new route will help reduce travel times and will provide safer and more efficient conditions for carriers and other road users.
