Energocom paid average of 133.86 euros per MWh of electricity in July
Energocom company purchased in July 2026 a volume of 308,868 MWh of electricity at average price of 133.86 euros/MWh, with most of the energy procured from imports.
According to the company, 75.26% of the total volume was covered by imports, while 24.74% came from local producers. Of the imported energy, 57.33% was purchased through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania and Ukraine. Another 17.93% was procured from the Day-Ahead Market via OPCOM and the Romanian Commodities Exchange.
Energocom specifies that the average price of 133.86 euros/MWh represents the acquisition cost and does not include taxes and expenses for transmission, capacity reservation, and other logistical costs.
The new procurement rules came into force on 1 July 2026, with the implementation of Decision No. 283/2026 on the approval of the electricity market rules. Under these conditions, suppliers with public service obligations make their purchases through competitive mechanisms, including the Organized Market for Bilateral Contracts, the Day-Ahead Market, and the Intraday Market.
In this context, Energocom states that it purchases less energy produced during daytime hours and focuses its procurements on peak consumption intervals, 07:00–11:00 and 18:00–23:00. According to the company, this structure of purchases influences the weighted average purchase price.
