Moldovan, Romanian officials approach bilateral cooperation
Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Romania is an important pillar in strengthening security and the institutional capacities of our country. This message was conveyed by Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin during a discussion with Romania’s Ambassador to Chișinău Cristian Leon Țurcanu about development directions in bilateral relations.
According to the minister, cooperation between the two states can contribute to modernizing the resources and equipment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, improving collaboration between institutions, increasing citizens’ safety, and facilitating cross-border movement.
“We value Romania’s openness and support and we will continue this dialogue with confidence and determination. For us, a solid partnership means concrete actions, results with impact, and real benefits for the country,” said Daniella Misail-Nichitin.
Among the priorities discussed are projects under Interreg NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova 2021–2027, cooperation in the context of the SAFE Instrument, including for equipping institutions, as well as advancing two-way coordinated border control at the Moldovan-Romanian frontier.
