Investing in government securities: Ministry of Finance launches new subscription round

The Ministry of Finance is launching a new subscription round for government securities today. It will run until October 5 on eVMS.md platform.

As part of this subscription, citizens can invest in government bonds with a maturity of 1 year and an annual interest rate of 7.45%; a maturity of 2 years and an annual interest rate of 7.55%; a maturity of 3 years and an annual interest rate of 7.65%; or a maturity of 4 years and an annual interest rate of 7.85%.

The nominal value of one bond is 100 lei, while the interest is transferred semiannually directly to the investor’s bank account.

The eVMS.md platform was launched in the summer of 2024. Government securities are among the safest investment instruments due to the full guarantee provided by the state. Through government securities, the state borrows from citizens to finance the country’s development and economic growth projects. Government securities include treasury bills and government bonds.
