Moldova International Exchange initiates admission process for capital market

The Moldova International Exchange (BIMx) has begun the process of admitting brokers and issuers, marking the final stage before trading is launched. More specifically, brokers will be connected to the BIMx trading system and will undergo the necessary procedures to be able to operate on the exchange. The first listing is planned by the end of 2026. The announcement was made during Moldova Business Week, which began today in Chișinău.

“We are entering the stage when the exchange begins to come to life. Brokers and issuers are entering the admission process, the systems are being connected and tested, and the infrastructure is becoming ready for the first listings. Together, we are connecting the capital market of the Republic of Moldova to European markets,” said BIMx CEO Veronica Arpintin.

Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Claudiu Năsui said that BIMx is creating infrastructure through which capital can reach companies that invest and grow more easily, while investors can gain access to new opportunities.

“A competitive economy needs capital, and companies in the Republic of Moldova must have more options to finance themselves and grow. BIMx is creating infrastructure through which capital can reach companies that invest and develop more easily, while investors can gain access to new opportunities. This is an important step toward a modern capital market connected to the European economy,” the minister emphasized.

Bucharest Stock Exchange director-general Remus Vulpescu noted that a functional and regionally integrated capital market in Chișinău would be a strong catalyst for attracting European capital and developing the entire business environment.

BIMx’s initial share capital amounts to 29,475,000 lei (€1.5 million), while its shareholder base brings together ten institutional entities from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, representing key sectors of the economy and financial market.
