Advancing the country’s European path, reform priorities and future challenges have been discussed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan with the ambassadors of the European Union member states.
According to the Delegation of the European Union to Chisinau, the EU and its member states stand with Moldova in its efforts to build a democratic, prosperous and resilient future.
“Ambassador of the European Union Iwona Piorko had the honor of hosting Prime Minister Vasile Tofan at a working lunch with the ambassadors of the EU member states. The discussions focused on advancing the country’s European path, reform priorities and future challenges,” the EU Delegation said.
Moldova got the status of candidate country for EU membership in June 2022, and in June 2026, it opened the first negotiating cluster, “Fundamentals.” Shortly afterwards, in July 2026, the European Union and Moldova also opened negotiations on the cluster concerning external relations. The European Commission described these developments as important steps in Moldova’s accession process.
