European expertise for modernizing professional training in public administration

The modernization of the training system for civil servants, the development of digital tools, and the use of innovative training methods were the main topics of the first workshop organized by the National Institute of Administration and Public Management (INAMP) with the support of the European Commission, through the European Union’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX).

The opening of the event was attended by INAMP Director Veronica Butnaru, Deputy Secretary-General of the Government Alexandru Iacub and Stephan Dahlgren, Project Manager within the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.

The workshop, held from September 23 to 25, marked the first activity carried out by INAMP with the support of the European Commission through TAIEX. The initiative aims to adopt European best practices for modernizing the professional development system in public administration and strengthening the capacities needed for the European integration process.

Over the three days, representatives of public institutions from the Republic of Moldova analyzed European models for training civil servants together with experts from France and Belgium. Discussions focused on the evaluation and quality assurance of training programs, pedagogical standards, trainer development, the creation of a digital training ecosystem, and the use of artificial intelligence in the learning process.

The workshop was attended by 36 representatives from 20 public institutions and authorities. European expertise was provided by representatives of the Directorate-General for Administration and the Civil Service and the Regional Institute of Administration in Lille, France, as well as the Federal Public Service Policy and Support in Belgium.

The workshop is part of efforts to modernize the professional development system in public administration, so that civil servants can benefit from modern training tools, skills adapted to new requirements, and access to the experience of European Union member states.

TAIEX is the European Union instrument through which public administrations benefit from expertise and the exchange of experience to move closer to European standards and practices.
