Moldova internationally recognized for economic promotion at City Nation Place Awards 2025

Moldova has achieved significant international recognition through the project,  The World Congress of Vine and Wine in Chisinau, which received the title, Highly Commended, in the Best Communication Strategy – Economic Development category at the City Nation Place Awards 2025.

The event, held annually in London, awards the most successful nation branding and place marketing projects and the distinction awarded to Moldova confirms the increasing visibility of communication campaigns conducted by the Investments Agency and their impact on the country's economic image.

The World Congress of Vine and Wine in Chisinau, organized by Wine of Moldova in the last summer, transformed the country's capital into the world wine center for a few days. The event was attended by delegates from over 50 countries, more than 500 participants, international organizations, producers, investors and experts from the global oenological industry.

This international recognition shows Moldova's efforts to promote the country's image through strategic communication campaigns, also contributing to economic development and attracting investments.

The World Congress of Vine and Wine, held in Chisinau June 16–20, 2025, concluded with the adoption of 14 essential resolutions for the future development of the global viticultural sector. They were approved at the 23rd General Assembly of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and cover such areas as viticulture, oenology, food safety, wine law and education on responsible consumption.

The Congress was organized by the OIV, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the National Office of Vine and Wine. Moldova has been a member of the OIV since 2001, being the first Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) country to join the organization. The Congress in Chisinau marks the beginning of the second century of the OIV, which celebrated 100 years in 2024.
