Over 390 thousand people applied for energy compensation in first week of registration launch
A number of 391,229 citizens applied for energy compensation during the cold season, within a week of the registration launch on http://compensatii.gov.md. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru presented the figures today.
Out of the total number, over 200,000 people who applied were assisted by registrars.
At the same time, call center employees provided support and phone counseling to 9,772 individuals, who had questions about the registration process.
The deadline for submitting the application is 28 November. Natalia Plugaru mentioned that individuals who register by this date will benefit from compensation starting this month. However, those who do not register by 28 November will still be able to submit the application later, but they will receive compensation starting the following month.
Help at the Meter program is offering for the fourth consecutive year energy compensation to vulnerable households for November-March period. The application process for energy compensation was launched on 3 November.
Compensations will be offered as monetary payments, paid monthly. The information system will individually calculate the value of the compensation for each household, based on the family's income, the number of family members, and their status (minor, person with disability, student), so that support is granted proportionally to the needs of each family.
The ministry has prepared a video guide available on the institution's official website, where citizens can familiarize themselves with each registration step.
