VIDEO // Moldovan education minister says young people represent engine of change, future of European Moldova
Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun today conveyed a message on the occasion of the National Youth Day, emphasizing that their role was crucial in society’s development and the country’s modernization.
“The young people of Moldova are not just a quarter of the population. They are the engine of change, those who bring new ideas, create systems to modernize, and build a European, open and supportive Moldova,” said Dan Perciun.
The minister noted that investments in youth represent, in fact, investments in future. In recent years, the Education and Research Ministry has expanded the network of youth centers, strengthened the voice of students through school and national councils, offered grants for student projects and started constructing the first Social Innovation Center in Moldova.
At the same time, the official underscored the support provided to youth organizations, the modernization of the legal framework for volunteering, and the preparation to launch the European Youth Card, which will provide concrete opportunities for thousands of young people across the country.
“Today is about you – about each brave initiative and every step you take towards building a better society. Thank you for your involvement, for dreaming, acting, and proving that the future of Moldova is in good hands,” the minister also said.
Dan Perciun concluded the message with a call for solidarity and collective action: “The future is written today, together with you.”
