National Bank of Moldova intervenes on local interbank market with net sales of 4 million euros in last September

The degree of coverage of the net currency demand on behalf of economic agents through the net currency supply on behalf of individuals was 83.6 per cent in last September compared to 79.2 per cent in August, 2025.

Data by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) shows that, compared to the previous month, the net currency supply on behalf of individuals decreased by 38.3 million euros, and the net currency demand on behalf of economic agents - by 65.3 million euros.

Under these conditions, BNM intervened in the local interbank market with net sales amounting to four million euros.

In the structure of the net currency supply on behalf of individuals, the major portion continued to belong to the European single currency (72.9 per cent).

According to BNM, the exchange rate of the Moldovan leu against the euro varied, on average, from 19.5715 EUR/MDL in August to 19.5250 EUR/MDL in September 2025.
