
MEP after formation of new parliament: We are ready to support Chișinău MPs in EU accession process
European Parliament is ready to resume work with the deputies from the Chișinău Parliament and continue to support them in the accession to the European Union. MEP Siegfried Mureșan conveyed the message today, following the formation of the new parliament.
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova was convened today for inaugural session, following the pro-European victory in the parliamentary elections held in September.
"It is for the first time in the country's history that there is an absolute pro-European majority for two consecutive mandates of the Parliament. We, the European Parliament, are ready to resume work with our colleagues in the Chișinău Parliament and continue to support them in the process of accession to the European Union! Good luck, dear colleagues!", declared Siegfried Mureșan.
The deputies elected in the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025, gathered today for their first session. They are set to elect the president and vice-presidents of the Legislature, as well as members of the standing bureau.
Following the parliamentary elections, 55 deputies were elected on the Party of Action and Solidarity list, 26 on the Electoral Bloc Patriotic for Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova list, 8 on the Electoral Bloc Alternative list, and 6 deputies each on Our Party and Home Democracy Political Party list.
