Moldagrotech, Farmer exhibitions opened at Moldexpo exhibition centre
Over 200 companies of Moldova, Italy, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine are participating in the Moldagrotech (46th edition) and Farmer (28th edition) exhibitions, which have been opened at the Moldexpo international exhibition centre. This is considered the most significant event of the year for the agro-industrial sector of Moldova.
The exhibitions bring together manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment, input suppliers, companies from the agri-food sector, research institutions, development organizations and farmers from all regions of the country. The platform provides opportunities for information, experience exchange and partnerships to modernize agriculture and enhance its competitiveness.
During the four days of the exhibition, visitors will find a wide range of products and services at Moldexpo from all areas of the agri-food industry, from latest-generation agricultural machinery and equipment to agrochemicals, horticulture, and renewable energy solutions applied in agriculture.
At the same time, the exhibition includes a fair of seeds, saplings and planting material and the Agricultural and Rural Counseling Center will organize a round table dedicated to high-value biological horticultural material production.
Present at the opening of the event, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), Alexandra Sian, welcomed the organization of the exhibition, noting that agriculture was a fundamental sector for the national economy.
‘’The fact that the exhibition has reached its 46th edition speaks about the scale and demand on behalf of farmers to participate in such events, to learn new things, to develop and continue investments in the sector, which is fundamental for the economy of Moldova. Over the past years, we have seen fluctuations in productivity and efficiency in the agricultural sector. This is an indicator that investments in development, in innovations, in everything that means a new, digitalized agriculture is the path that Moldova must follow,’’ said Alexandra Sian.
The official also said that, at present, the private sector in the agricultural field was supported through over 12 different programmes, initiated by the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which provide targeted support for investments in new technologies, in modernizing horticultural and livestock sectors, in testing new irrigation equipment.
Sergiu Vesca, Executive Director of Moldova’s National Federation of Farmers, said that the exhibition had become a platform for communication, experience exchange and discovery of the latest technologies in agriculture, helping sector’s specialists to enhance their activity and increase productivity.
Zinaida Popa, General Director of the Moldexpo Center, emphasized that this was one of the most expected exhibition events of the year, which has become a very important platform for the agro-industrial sector of Moldova, giving opportunity to discover new technologies and achieve performance through modernization.
‘’The Moldagrotech and Farmer exhibitions represent an opportunity for dialogue and improvement of what is called agriculture in Moldova. For the Moldexpo team, it is an honor, as well as a challenge to organize each exhibition. Everything we succeed in doing is thanks to each of you present at the event,’’ said Zinaida Popa.
The event's agenda also includes the traditional professional competitions, Novelty of the Year 2025, where manufacturers and distributors of agricultural technology and inputs will compete to showcase their innovations; Leader Farmer, a competition relaunched this year, meant to appreciate the remarkable results of Moldovan farmers.
The exhibition will be open till Sunday, October 19. Entry is free for all interested sides. The event is organized by Moldexpo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova and the National Federation of Farmers of Moldova.
