The MPs of the new parliament today convened for the constitutive meeting of the legislative body.

The session was attended by President Maia Sandu, the members of the Constitutional Court, the Central Electoral Commission, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau.

The session was presided over by the acting elder of the new parliament's composition, Zinaida Greceanii, elected on the list of the Electoral Patriotic Bloc  of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova.

As a result of the parliamentary elections held on September 28, 2025, 55 deputies were elected on the list of the Political Party Action and Solidarity Party, 26 - on the list of the Electoral Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova; 8 lawmakers - on the list of the Electoral Bloc Alternative, and 6 MPs each on the list of the Political Party Our Party and the Political Party Democracy at Home.
