Chisinau, Jan 10 /MOLDPRES/- New tariffs for electricity and heating energy came into force today with the publication in the Official Journal of the price adjustment decisions approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).

Thus, consumers served by Premier Energy will pay 4.10 lei per kWh, up by 1.76 lei than the current price.

At the same time, for consumers in the north of the country, served by FEE Nord, the tariff will be 4.68 lei per kWh, up by 1.84 lei.

Also today, ANRE decisions on new tariffs for heating energy delivered to residents of Chisinau and Balti municipalities were published in the Official Journal.

Thus, Chisinau residents will pay 2510 lei per gigacalorie, excluding VAT, 686 lei more than at present. For residents of Balti, the tariff for central heating will be 2126 lei per gigacalorie, excluding VAT, 307 lei more than the current rate.

The tariff adjustment decisions were approved by ANRE on January 3.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu announced last week that the government will provide citizens with compensation for paying electricity bills and will increase the amount of compensation for beneficiaries who have centralized heating, so that they will not feel the tariff increases.

As of January 1, 2025, the right bank of the Dniester River will no longer receive electricity from the Cuciurgan power plant, after the Russian concern Gazprom stopped natural gas supplies to Moldova.

As of December 16, 2024, a state of emergency has been set up for 60 days throughout the Republic of Moldova due to potential risks of energy shortages.
