Over 2,200 tons of gasoline and diesel imported into Moldova on Thursday
More than 1,400 tons of diesel and 400 tons of gasoline were imported into the Republic of Moldova on 26 March. The information was presented today by the Ministry of Energy.
The imports carried out yesterday replenished the available stocks, which ensure consumption for up to 15 days for gasoline, almost 13 days for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and seven days for diesel.
Fuel stations are not allowed to refuse refuelling vehicles, but for the sale of petroleum products in jerrycans and mobile containers a limit of 20 liters per person is applied.
According to the Government Decision approved on Thursday, when calculating the maximum retail price for standard diesel, the National Energy Regulatory Agency will apply, for the duration of the state of emergency, the average value of the FOB Med Italy quotation for the previous 7 days instead of 14 days.
The authorities have encouraged car owners to use petroleum products rationally and to avoid purchases that are not strictly necessary.
On March 4, the Government declared a state of alert in the energy sector for a period of 60 days, in connection with the external situation. According to the authorities, the measure is preventive in nature and aims to protect domestic consumption and maintain the stability of the energy system.
