Isaccea–Vulcănești Power Line remains disconnected: Authorities activate alternative supply routes, including four 110 kV interconnection lines between Romania and Moldova

The electricity supply to the Republic of Moldova continues to be ensured after the authorities activated alternative supply routes, following the disconnection of Isaccea–Vulcănești power line, which was affected by last night’s attacks on the energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine. Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu made the statement.

In order to maintain the electricity supply to the Republic of Moldova during the night, the transmission system operator Moldelectrica, in coordination with the transmission system operators in Romania and Ukraine, put into operation alternative supply routes, including the four 110 kV interconnection lines between Romania and Moldova.

At the same time, the Isaccea–Vulcănești overhead power line remains disconnected, and specialists are continuing the inspection process to remedy the problem. The Isaccea–Vulcănești overhead power line was disconnected last night following attacks on the energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine. The line represents an important component of the regional and national energy system, playing an essential role in ensuring the stability and continuity of electricity supply.

The competent authorities announce that they are monitoring the situation in real time and analyzing developments in order to assess the impact on the energy system. Information will be updated as additional data becomes available from the field and from the system operators involved.
