Faults on Isaccea–Vulcănești Line under repair after attacks in Ukraine
The faults that occurred on the 400 kV Isaccea–Vulcănești overhead power line are currently being repaired, after the infrastructure was affected during the previous night by drone attacks on Ukrainian territory, in the vicinity of energy networks, the state enterprise Moldelectrica has announced.
The transmission system operator specifies that technical problems have been identified on the line, and the repair work requires specialized teams and coordination with system operators in Ukraine and Romania.
In parallel with the repair works, measures are being applied to ensure the continuity of electricity supply to consumers, so that the impact on the population and the economy is minimized.
Moldelectrica notes that the restoration process depends on the complexity of the technical interventions and on cross-border cooperation, without indicating, for the moment, an exact deadline for the completion of the works. In this context, consumers are urged to use electricity responsibly, especially during peak hours, in order to reduce pressure on the networks.
The Isaccea–Vulcănești line is a key element of the energy interconnection with Romania and plays an important role in ensuring the stability of the Republic of Moldova’s power system, especially under the current regional conditions. Company representatives assure that the situation is being continuously monitored and that information will be updated as the repair work progresses.
The Isaccea–Vulcănești overhead power line was disconnected following Monday evening’s attacks on the energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine.
