Isaccea–Vulcănești Power Line disconnected following attacks on energy infrastructure in Southern Ukraine
Isaccea–Vulcănești overhead power line has been disconnected following recent attacks on the energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine, Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu announced this evening.
According to the official, the situation has prompted a coordinated intervention by electricity transmission system operators in the region, who are currently conducting technical inspections to assess the condition of the infrastructure.
“As a result of the recent attacks on the energy infrastructure in the southern area of Ukraine, at the moment the Isaccea–Vulcănești overhead power line is disconnected. The teams of the three transmission system operators are coordinating, at an operational level, the necessary technical inspections,” stated Dorin Junghietu.
Field inspections are ongoing and may last several hours, during which specialists are analyzing the technical conditions required to resume the operation of the line.
“We will return with updates and additional information as the technical teams complete their field inspections,” Junghietu added.
The Isaccea–Vulcănești power line is an important component of both the regional and national energy systems, playing an essential role in ensuring the stability and continuity of electricity supply.
The competent authorities are monitoring the situation in real time and analyzing developments in order to assess the impact on the energy system. Information will be updated as additional data become available from the field and from the system operators involved.
