Over 5,800 families of Moldova to reduce energy consumption with help of EcoVoucher Programme
An additional 5,802 families from Moldova will be able to replace old appliances with new, energy-efficient ones through the EcoVoucher Programme. The fifth session of the 2025 programme is taking place on September 12–29.
According to the National Center for Sustainable Energy (NCSE), vouchers were automatically allocated to beneficiaries based on eligibility criteria and the data registered on the www.compensatii.gov.md platform. At this session, 1,151 vouchers were allocated to households with residents over the age of 63, and 4,651 went to families with minor children. A number of 2,593 of these vouchers are for families with two children, 693 - for families with three children, and 1,365 - for families with four or more children.
“The programme directly supports households and promotes the acquisition of high-performance, energy-efficient equipment. Beneficiaries reduce their energy invoices, which represents annual savings of over 25 million lei,” NCSE director Ion Muntean said.
Each voucher is worth 6,000 lei and can cover up to 70 per cent of the cost of a new appliance. The appliances included in the programme are: refrigerators and washing machines that meet energy efficiency criteria and European compliance standards. Partner stores provide free delivery and take back old equipment for recycling.
So far, the EcoVoucher Programme has supported about 35,000 families, and in 2025, 20,520 vouchers were redeemed. The initiative is implemented by NCSE under the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies for Moldova (E4M) project, funded by Norway, Germany, Denmark and the European Union.
