Petrol, diesel prices continue rising in Moldova
Chisinau, 8 August /MOLDPRES/ - The tendency of increase in the pump price for petrol and diesel will maintain for the third period in a row. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today established, for the next two weeks, the ceiling selling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol at 17.06 lei for one litre, against 16.52 earlier and for diesel at 14.77 lei, by 0.55 lei more against the level recorded on the previous period.
The new prices for petrol and diesel will enter into force at midnight and will be in force starting from 9 August till 23 August. Operators will not be allowed to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones set by ANRE.
The prices at the London and New York stock exchanges continued dropping on 8 August morning. One barrel of oil, due to be supplied in next October, was quoted at 52.14 dollars at the London stock exchange. The price of the Brent oil at the New York stock exchange on 7 August dropped from 52.45 to 51.35 dollars for one barrel. Experts consider that the evolution of the oil price at international stock exchanges will depend much on a meeting of the technical committee of the oil producing countries of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi.
