Moldova received new assistance package from USA for modernization of BPDS Fulger

Moldovan police received a new technical assistance package worth 320 thousand dollars from the Government of the United States of America. It is intended for the modernization of the special - purpose police brigade Fulger.

The package includes modern tactical equipment: gas masks, holographic sights and accessories for weapon modernization, aimed at improving the reaction capacity and operational efficiency of Fulger brigade employees.

The Chief of the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP), Viorel Cernăuțeanu, said that the donation strengthens the Police's capacities and once again demonstrates the trust of development partners in our institutional path.

'The continuous modernization of the General Inspectorate of Police subdivisions is important for the safety of citizens and the working and reaction conditions of colleagues in the subdivisions,' Cernăuțeanu said.

The support was provided through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. Department of State.

The event was attended by high-ranking representatives from the strategic partner, the U.S. Department of State, led by F. Cartwright Weiland, a senior official of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Bureau.
