“Today, I announce an important step for the energy security of the Republic of Moldova. Thanks to the investment partnership with the United States of America, the government will build Strășeni-Gutinaș high voltage power line - a new connection that means the elimination of energy blackmail and the guarantee of electricity”, he said.
According to the official, the American government investment will be $130 million and it will fully cover the construction of the line, which will directly connect Moldova to Romania and the European network.
The new line will have a length of 190 km and will directly connect Moldova to Romania and the European network. “I thank the United States government for this investment in the European future of the Republic of Moldova,” he stated.
Thus, after Chișinău-Vulcănești line which will be completed this year, we will have two more high-voltage connections, one on the country's northern segment with Bălți - Suceava which is in the design stage and the second in the central region of the Republic of Moldova, Strășeni-Gutinaș.
The official emphasized that in just four years, thanks to strong partnerships, Moldova is building its true independence.
“If previously not a single brick was laid, not a single electric wire was pulled to free Moldova from blackmail and threat, in just 4 years, thanks to strong partnerships, Moldova is building its true independence,” concluded Recean.
The 400 kV Strășeni-Gutinaș overhead power line project represents a strategic investment in the energy infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova, aiming to improve the stability of the national power system, increase transfer capacity, and ensure a reliable electricity supply. This line is part of efforts to modernize the transmission network and interconnect with the energy systems of neighboring countries.
