Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu today inspected the works for the modernization of the Chisinau Power Station. He emphasized that it was crucial for the workforce to be maximally mobilized to complete this project as soon as possible.
Presently, the four single-phase units of the power autotransformer are being installed on the station’s territory.
‘’It is crucial that the workforce is maximally mobilized, in order to complete this project as soon as possible. This infrastructure will allow direct energy transportation to the largest consumption hub of the country – Chisinau municipality,’’ emphasized Minister Dorin Junghietu.
According to the Energy Ministry, work continues at a sustained pace both at the Chisinau Power Station and along the route of the Independence Power Line of 400 kV Vulcanesti–Chisinau, which will strengthen Moldova's connection to the European electricity market.
At the same time, the construction of the Independence Power Line is making progress, with over 80 per cent of the pillars already set, authorities announce. Also, over 500 foundations have been completed, which represents 99 per cent; 456 pillars have been assembled, of which 407 are installed along the line's route. And conductors have been set on 85 km.
In parallel, at the Vulcanesti Electric Station, work of concreting foundations for equipment continues.
The works are carried out under a project carried out by Moldova’s government, through the Energy Ministry and the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation of Energy Sector Projects (UCIPE), with the World Bank’s support.
The final beneficiary is the Moldelectrica state enterprise, the national power system operator, along with all electricity consumers of Moldova, who will benefit from a safe and efficient energy infrastructure.
